Co-founded by Amy, And Now She Rises is a sanctuary for domestic abuse survivors, aiding their journey from victim to victor. While self-extraction from abuse is crucial, the path forward demands a communal embrace—from immediate safety plans post-escape, to enduring support circles, legal guidance, housing solutions, and relearning healthy relationship dynamics. Our aim? Transform a survivor's anguish into strength, an individual's metamorphosis radiating positivity far beyond, towards a global resonance of empowerment.
After eight houses elsewhere in the country, “This Old House” has teamed with Amy Matthews, general contractor and host of such television shows as “Renovation Raiders,” “Sweat Equity,” “Bathroom Renovations,” “Blog Cabin,” and “This New House,” to build her dream home: a modern, Scandinavian-style “barnhouse” in the St. Croix River Valley.
